Vienas svarbiausių XX–XXI a. džiazo veikėjų, Chick Corea savo charizma ir kūriniai patraukdavo net tuos, kurie nedraugavo su džiazu. O kaip kitaip: juk jo muzikoje nardo žaismingos melodijos vingiai, žybsi ispaniškos kultūros atšvaitai, o kūrinių skambesį pagyvina roko ritmai ir sintezatoriaus tembrų paletė. Į savo stiliaus kaleidoskopą Chick Corea jungė įvairių džiazo tradicijų, pasaulio muzikos ir net akademinės kompozicijos požiūrius. Visą tai praturtino geniali improvizatoriaus gyslelė, užfiksuota dešimtyje įrašų kartu su grupėmis „Circle“, „Return to Forever“ ir kitais džiazo grandais.

Vibrant samba rhythms, Afro-Cuban energy and ballad swing cocktails – this is how Kaunas Big Band invites you to meet the American jazz piano legend Chick Corea (1941–2021).

One of the most important jazz character’s of the 20th and 21st centuries, Chick Corea’s charisma and compositions captivated even those who were not familiar with jazz. And how else: after all, his music dives into the twists and turns of a playful melody, the reflections of Spanish culture flash, and the sound of the works is enlivened by the rhythms of rock and the palette of the synthesizer’s timbres. Chick Corea combined his views on various jazz traditions, world music and even academic composition into his kaleidoscope of styles. All this was enriched by the ingenious tone of the improviser, recorded in ten records together with the bands Circle, Return to Forever and other jazz groups.

Kaunas Big Band invites you to get acquainted with the inventive jazz master and listen to both famous and new Chick Corea melodies. Central Park, La Fiesta, Señor Mouse are just a few of the colorful peaks of the program.
