Kauno pučiamųjų orkestras „Ąžuolynas“ (vyr. dirigentas Giedrius Vaznys), šiemet minintis savo gyvavimo 60–metį, vieną pagrindinių jubiliejinių programų „Claros Rockmore pasaulis“  skiria pirmajai pasaulyje teremino virtuozei Claros Rockmore, kurios atminimą įprasmins jau viena nedaugelio pasaulyje virtuozių, smuikininkė ir vokalistė KATICA ILLÉNYI (Vengrija).

Katicos Illényi atlikimui paklūsta tiek klasikos, tiek džiazo, world music žanrai, žymiausių kino filmų garso takeliai. Ji yra pelniusi Išskirtinio Vengrijos menininko ir Vengrijos nacionalinio radijo apdovanojimus, Ferenzo Liszto premiją, išleidusi virš dvidešimt muzikos albumų. Ji atpažįstama viso pasaulio koncertų salėse, o pirmą kartą Lietuvoje kartu su Kauno pučiamųjų instrumentų orkestru „Ąžuolynas“ ji atliks išskirtinę programą „Claros Rockmore pasaulis“. Vakaro metu puikiai žinomas Édith Piaf, Camille Saint–Saëns, Jacques Offenbach, Glen Miller, Goran Bregović, Irving Berlin ir Benjamino Gorbulskio melodijas tikriausiai pirmą kartą girdėsite atliekamas „elektronikos pirmagimiu“ – tereminu.

Spalio 21 d. koncertas Kauno valstybinėje filharmonijoje prilygs tikram nuotykiui. Nors girdėsite, kaip instrumentas dainuoja tarytum žmogaus balsu, Katica Illényi grodama net neprisilies prie jo korpuso. Dešiniąja ranka ji atstumu nuo antenos reguliuos garso aukštį, o kairiąja – garso stiprį. Du radijo dažnio generatoriai ir dvi antenos – tai rusų mokslininko ir šnipo Leono Theremino (1896–1993) atradimas, kurį pirmiausiai jis XX amžiaus pradžioje buvo sugalvojęs ne muzikiniams tikslams, o dujų tankio matavimams. Neįprastą įrenginį muzikos instrumentu pavertė ir išpopuliarino talentinga litvakų kilmės atlikėja Clara Rockmore, kurios 110-asias gimimo metines šiemet minime.

Clara Rockmore (1911–1998) gimė Vilniuje, tačiau jos talento spinduliai apšvietė visą pasaulį, didysis muzikantės karjeros šuolis prasideda nuo  1921 m. ir yra susijęs su Jungtinėmis Amerikos Valstijomis. Absoliuti klausa ir klasikinės muzikos pagrindai tapo Claros sėkmės bilietu. Čia 1928 metais savo atradimą Leonas Thereminas pristatė Jungtinėse Valstijose, surengdamas pasirodymus garsiausiose Niujorko salėse. Vienas kritikas įžvelgė, kad jei L. Thereminas būtų gyvenęs prieš 500 metų, už teremino išradimą jis būtų sudegintas ant laužo kaip burtininkas.

Claros Rockmore dėka L. Thereminas sumažino instrumentą tačiau padidino instrumento diapazonas nuo trijų iki penkių oktavų. Vėliau tereminas buvo primirštas, kol 6-ajame dešimtmetyje prasidėjo jo Renesansas: tereminą pradėjo naudoti Holivudo kūrėjai siaubo filmų garso takeliams, vėliau savo įrašuose jį naudojo roko ir elektroninės muzikos grupės bei kūrėjai – The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, Jeanas-Michelle Jarre. Tačiau didžiausio įkvėpimo tereminas suteikė  legendinio sintezatoriaus kūrėjui Robertui Moogui. Koncerte „Claros Rockmore pasaulis“ koncerte išvysite jau šiuolaikinį, kompaktišką teremino modelį.

Kaunas Wind Orchestra “Ąžuolynas” (chief conductor Giedrius Vaznys) this year is celebrating the 60th anniversary of its existence and one of its programs dedicates to the unique instrument and theremin music virtuoso Clara Rockmore, whose memory will be made meaningful by Hungarian theremist, as well as a violinist and vocalist Katica Illényi.
Katica Illényi performs impeccably in classical and jazz, world music genres, soundtracks of the most famous movies. She has won the Outstanding Hungarian Artist and Hungarian National Radio Awards, the Ferenz Liszt Prize, released over twenty music albums. The universal performer, who actively performs all over the world, together with Kaunas Wind Orchestra „Ąžuolynas“ will perform compositions played by Clara Rockmore and contemporary compositions. Katica Illényi’s repertoire is a melodies that we have heard many times played by various instruments or ensembles, but this time it will be a rare opportunity to hear and see Theremin – the father of the electronic instrument, and it masterfully mastering – Katica Illényi. The concert will take place at the Kaunas State Philharmonic.
The name of Clara Rockmore is associated with a strange and interesting instrument that paved the way for electronic music. Strange because it is visible and audible, but the sound is produced without touching the device. Two radio frequency generators and two antennas are the discovery of the Russian scientist and spy Leon Teremin, which he first invented in the early twentieth century not for musical purposes but for gas density measurements. The unusual device was turned into a musical instrument and popularized by the talented Litvak performer Clara Rockmore, whose 110th birthday is being celebrated this year.
The world famous performer was born in Vilnius, but the rays of her talent illuminated the whole world. The great leap of the musician ‘s career began in 1921 and is related to the United States.
Absolute hearing and the basics of classical music became the ticket to Clara’s success. In 1928, Leon Teremin presented his discovery in the United States by performing in the most famous halls of the New York.
These days theremin instrument has so many pictorial descriptions. Teremin’s professor Rob Schwimmer once said “seeing someone play this instrument is like painting with fingers in the air and playing it is something like having sex with ghost”. Another critic thinks that “If theremin would have been 500 appeared years ago, it would have been burned on a bonfire as a wizard”.
Because of Clara Rockmore’s contribution, the discoverer of Teremin, Leon Teremin, reduced the instrument, making the performer more visible to the audience, but increasing the instrument’s range from three to five octaves. The theremin was later forgotten until its Renaissance in the 1960s: it was first used by Hollywood filmmakers for horror film soundtracks, and later used in rock and electronic music bands and creators such as The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, Jeanas-Michelle Jarre. However, the theremin gave the greatest inspiration to the creator of the legendary synthesizer Robert Moog.
